It is only a matter of weeks before the Suzuki European GSX-R Cup (organised in collaboration with the Alstare Group) returns after a six month-long gap, and in the Arcore workshop (near Milan) where the bikes for the 2007 season are currently being prepared, pressure is rising as mechanics up their efforts to make sure the Suzuki GSX-R 750 K6 bikes are in mint condition for the start of the season.

This year, the riders taking part in the Cup will be using the same bike as last year but the bike will equipped with the more competitive and newer Pirelli Diablo tyres. For high-resolution pictures of this year's bikes, take a look the picture gallery attached to this article.

The first round of the Championship will be held in Valencia on April 15th (for details regarding the other rounds, check the calendar) and will coincide with the second European round of the World Superbike Championship.

Once again, the organisers have managed to put together an interesting, exclusive collection of young, promising riders eager to show European crowds their skills and follow in the footsteps of current Team Alstare rider Xavier Siméon. Furthermore, the presence of two female riders in this year's entry list (Czech Republic's Marketa Janakova and Italy's Alessia Polita) needs to be noted in a predominantly male paddock.

AUSTRIA

- Roland RESCH (# 2)

GERMANY

- Florian KRESSE (#3)
