James Haydon broke his left foot and damaged his left shoulder and knee in a crash at Snetterton circuit in June. Since then, the Rizla Suzuki rider is fighting his way back to full fitness. James was examined by BSB series doctor Toby Branfoot, in Leeds yesterday, who ruled he was not fit to ride at the test. Steve Plater will stand in for James at tomorrow´s official British Superbike test at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

James will have another fitness test next week to see if his condition has improved enough for him to race at the 11th round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28th.

James Haydon said: “I'm disappointed not to have been passed fit but I guess the healing process is taking longer than expected. I will continue to work at my fitness in the key areas identified at the examination and hope to be passed fit as soon as possible. If racing at Cadwell is not an option, then I will be putting all my efforts into a return at Silverstone.”

If James is ruled out of racing at Cadwell Park, then Steve will deputize for him again. Steve is local to Cadwell Park, hailing from Woodhall Spa, just 15-miles away, and has won Supersport and Superbike races at the venue.

“I am happy to be testing for Rizla Suzuki,” enthused Steve Plater. “Obviously I am sorry for James that he has not been passed fit to ride and hope he can come back as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will do the very best job I can for Rizla Suzuki, whether at tests or race meetings.”
