Suzuki unveils 2007 new models in an impressive show in Paris
The production ready B-King will arrive in the UK in next year
Suzuki treated us to a pure french style gala show at the globally renowned venue shortly after unveiling the new B-King, GSX-R1000, new Bandit range and Burgman 125 with the presence of famous stars like football player Alessandro Del Piero or the World Endurance Champions, the Suzuki Castrol team.
The 2007 GSX-R 1000 will offer more power, technology and agility than before, meeting tough new Euro 3 and Tier 2 emissions standards. The engine management system carries massive computing power, using an ECM with four times the capacity used in the previous model. All that computing power not only controls the fuel injection and exhaust systems that contribute to the GSX-R 1000s outstanding engine efficiency, but also makes it possible for the rider to select three performance settings to match riding conditions, using a three way switch mounted on the right handlebar. The engine mapping varies with each setting, switching from one map to another is instantaneous, making it possible for a rider to select one map for one part of the racetrack and another map for another part of a ractrack. The system also allows the rider to select a different map to suit conditions at the end of a long race, when tire grip is reduced, or choose one map for a high-speed racetrack and a different map for a tighter racetrack. A new Idle Speed Control (ISC) system automatically regulates the volume of fresh air fed into the throttle body idle circuits, improving cold starting and stabilizing engine idle under various conditions. Following the same aerodynamic efficient styling found on the current GSX-R600 and 750 machines, the new 1000 boasts an impressive power increase.
The new 2007 GSX-R 1000's footpegs are adjustable, and can be moved into three different positions in a 14mm horizontal and vertical range. The rear brake pedal and master cyclinder on the right and the shift lever on the left move with their respective footpeg assemblies. The new GSX-R have a new vertically stacked headlights, with a more compact projector high beam. A narrow seat and frame covers make it easy for the rider to shift weight side-to-side while cornering on the racetrack as well as making it easier for the rider to touch ground while a stop. The GSX-R has an all new chassis engineered to deliver the right rigidity balance for more presise feel even at full lean. Also impressive are the two exhaust and a more ridig aluminium-alloy swingarm built using three die-castings and 200 grams lighter. A real superbike machine that will reach UK shores in February 2007 and in five colour options: Pearl Vigor Blue, Marble Erakis Red, Marble Daytona Yellow, Candy Max Orange and Solid Black / Metallic Mat Black.
The Bandit is reborn for 2007 with new liquid cooled, fuel injected engines across the entire line-up. Offering subtle update styling and major technical changes, the Bandit 1200 goes to 1250cc for 2007, offering improved dynamics throughout. The 2007 Bandit 1250's classic tube-frame chassis features larger diameter downtubes, increasing torsional rigidity by 10%. Seat height can be adjusted up or down 20mm by removing, flipping over an re-installing clever mountain spacers between the seat and the frame rails. Bandit 1250 and 1250S are available with optional ABS. Both models will be available in three colours, Metallic Graphite Blue, Pearl Nebular Black and Candy Sonoma Red.
With the 650's capacity remaining the same, the all-new engine gives improved performance, both Bandit models expose a symmetrical, center-cam-drive engine for ready admiration. The frame itself is color-coordinated to match the fuel tank and other body parts. The analog tachometer is complemented by an LCD digital speedometer along with LCD fuel gauge and clock. The Bandit 650's handlebar position can be adjusted forward or reward by 10mm, and a clever system of reversible spacers allows seat height to raised or lowed by 20 mm to accommodate every rider. Four-position adjustability allows the clutch lever and the front brake lever to be moved closer to or farther from the handlebars, to suit the rider's preference. The new Bandit 650 and 650S will be available in four colours, Pearl Vigor Blue, Metallic Graphite Blue, Candy Sonoma Red and Pearl Nebular Black.
Italian football star Alessandro Del Piero introduced the all-new Burgman 125 and 200. Completely restyled, the new model is stylish and practical. With sleek lines, the smartly integrated screen has been designed to control turbulence and create a smooth, pleasant flow of air over the rider. Abundance of storage, this is where the Burgman really scores over most other scooters, letting us pack away two full-face helmets plus extras. Its fuel injected single cylinder 4-stroke engine offers an overall performance especially at the low and mid-range revs. The new Burgman 125/200 keeps emissions well within the Euro 3 regulations.
But Suzuki's main attraction was the presentation of the production ready B-King. With looks almost identical to the highly acclaimed concept machine, the new B-King boasts an impressive specification, pushing the boundaries in true Suzuki fashion. Offering an impressive 1300cc engine the B-king will arrive in the UK in next year.
