The FIM World Endurance Championship takes place this weekend at Germany
Qualifying session begins tomorrow Thursday
Qualifying session begins tomorrow Thursday at 10:30pm, while the 24 Hour race starts at 3:00pm on Saturday. Mandy Kainz, Yamaha Austria team manager, says: “Now we are twenty one points behind Suzuki Castrol, so the championship starts again from here. The next two races are 24 hours, and anything can happen. Suzuki had bad luck at Suzuka and we had good luck, and now the championship is really close. To win one of the next races would be my dream." (FGSport)
The Oschersleben circuit is notoriously tough on man and machine, cramming 14 corners into just 3.667km (2.3 miles) of track and giving no rest for riders as they constantly chase up and down through the gears, forever either braking hard or accelerating at full throttle. Throw in the predictably unpredictable Oschersleben weather and the race becomes one of the toughest of the season. This year the forecast is for rain showers on Saturday and Sunday, which could favour teams with less powerful machines.
