Italian rider Andrea Dovizioso will be alone at Brno because his team-mate Yuki Takahashi has decided, along with the team, to remain at home and not interrupt the rehabilitation process. Three days after taking victory at Sachsenring, Yuki Takahashi crashed out at Suzuka circuit on July the 19th while he was training for the Suzuka 8-hours. Takahashi, unfortunately, fractured his left forearm where he has already broken three times in the past. He went under surgery in Japan on the 26th July and it has been put an 8cm titanium plate on his arm. Yuki will remain at home in order to get 100% ready for the three consecutive races between the 10th and the 24th September.

Third in the 250cc Championship standings, Yuki said: “I don't have enough power on my left arm and so I can not fully control the bike. Also, I feel pain with the vibration of the bike and I can not ride as I would. If I ride at Brno I wouldn't be at 100% of my physical conditions and so, along with my mechanics and team, I have decided not to race the next GP. In this way I can finish the rehabilitation and be ready for the Malaysian GP on September. In Czech Republic, I could gather some points but maybe compromise even the other races; for this reason I believe it is right to continue the rehabilitation and don't take any worthless risks”.

Second in the 250cc World Championship, two points down the series leader Jorge Lorenzo, Italian Andrea Dovizioso is ready to fight with the Spaniard rider for getting back to the leadership: “I didn't do anything special in this four-week break but still I relaxed a lot because I spent some time with my friends on the beach. I feel good and motivated for this thrilling final part of the season. My goal, of course, is to get back on the top of the championship, but I know it won't be easy because Lorenzo and Aprilia showed to be very competitive. I'll do my best as I've always did, starting from the next GP at Brno. Actually, we had two days test on July after the British GP on this track and, in that occasion, we made many changes at the chassis, so I'm quite confident my Honda will be okay starting from the first session on Friday”.
