Superstock 1000 FIM Cup classification is on fire after Luca Scassa scored his first victory and second MV Augusta´s win of the season in Brands Hatch. Pole position holder Ayrton Padovani, dropped back to fifth position in a very bad start but only nine laps later, he catch up leaders, Luca Scassa and Alessio Polita.

From then on the race was a fabulous fight between the three riders. Just three turns away from the checkered flag, Badovini made a mistake and nearly lost control of his bike. The Team Unionbike Gimotorsports rider tried again at the next turn but went in too deep. By the time he had regained his line had also lost second place. Luca Scassa secured his first win of the season followed four tenths of a second later by the series leader, Alessio Polita with Badovini in third position.

Luca Scassa: “I am over the moon, I finally did it and on a track that I love! I have known right from the start of the season that I could win on this bike and neither the team nor I have ever doubted this. We have worked really well together and I would like to thank everyone.”

Polita leads the championship with 115 points, Badovini sits second with 109, and Scassa third with 96 points. Next Superstock 1000 FIM Cup race is on the 27th august at Misano circuit.
