Two Podiums for Klaus Klaffenböck and Christian Parzer at Schleiz

This race has been the last great test before they start at this year's TT

Klaus and Christian took part in the two International Sidecar Championship races and took two podiums.

After finishing fastest in qualifying they started from the pole in both races. In the first heat on Saturday the two Austrians made a perfect start getting the hole shot. They opened the throttle and proved their performance again, with a 1:38.663 lap time there was no chance for the competitors. Reuter/Baydar (1:41.419) finished second and Steffes/Liesenfeld (1:43.494) third.

The Germans used a F1 sidecar and with their 1200ccm engine they had much more power than Klaffi and Parzer with their 600ccm engine for the TT.

Klaus Klaffenböck said: “The first race yesterday when we got the hole shot was really perfect. Today Hock/Becker have been faster – that’s no question. But with the 1220ccm engine they had a big advantage on the Schleiz race track with its hills. Uphill we had no chance with our smaller engine. But in total we are really happy after this weekend. We even had enough time to test different things for the TT. We are very well prepared now for the great event on the IoM. There are only some days left and then we start with the trucks in the direction of England. On Saturday May 26th we will do our first practice lap on the island.”
