UEM promotes the European Women Cup to an official championship

26 riders already signed for the first race in Vallelunga

UEM promotes the European Women Cup to an official championship Chiara Valentini and Paola Cazzola, winners of the last year European race in Vallelunga. © EWC In 2007, UEM has promoted the European Women Cup (born in 2005) to an official championship: "The European Women's Championship". It will be a great excitement for the 26 riders, already signed on the first race in Vallelunga (the highest number in female european races), to be part of the first International female Championship.

The german Nina Prinz, now riding a Ducati 1098 of the Ducati Y2K Women's Team and holding the female record of the Vallelunga circuit (1.43.9) achieved just few days ago, is ready to restart the last year challenge with the Superstock 1000 current champion Paola Cazzola, riding a Yamaha R1 of the Yamaha Piellemoto team. In the fight for the victory, they will have to settle up with the Aprilia rider Samuela De Nardi on RSV1000 (she won the class title in 2005), the french Fabienne Migout of the Kawasaki-Conti team, two times on the podium this year in the italian championship, Letizia Marchetti with a Ducati 1098 of the Ducati Y2K Women's Team and Manuela La Licata, riding a Yamaha R1 for the Vasar team.

Even the Superstock 600 looks like a great battlefield (in spite of the current champion Chiara Valentini defection due to the shoulder accident after-effects), with Alessia Polita return (she was European champion in 2005 before to move to the 1000 class), who will challenge the best two riders of the moment: Romana Fede on Ducati 749R (Ducati Y2K Women's Team), coming from the two victories full result in the italian championship and female recordwoman for the 600cc class on this racetrack (1.47.4), and Eliana Pezzilli, on a Yamaha R6 of the Yamaha Piellemoto team, holding the second position in the Italian Motocicliste championship. Definitely ready for a place on the podium are the dutch Iris Ten Katen (second position at the last year European cup) with Honda Cbr600RR of the Van Winkoop team and Cristina Peluso (Italian Champion 2006), riding a Yamaha R6 for the Vasar team. Besides this, some interesting surprises could arrive by the other 14 competitors in this class.
